What happens
Professor Antonio Basile, a psychologist played by Bela Lugosi, believes a person bent on suicide can be turned toward murder. After his editor Martin Hellman dismisses the theory as absurd, Basile sets out to prove it. On a foggy bridge he persuades a despairing young woman, Gladys Tanner, to abandon her plan to end her life and instead take revenge on the man who jilted her. The episode is from the series Suspense, first broadcast on February 2, 1943.
Present-day city in the early 1940s, including a foggy bridge over a deep canyon, Hellman's office and home, and the Basile apartment.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
