What happens

Captain Sam Bradley flies Pacific Central Airways Flight 17 from San Francisco toward Los Angeles through fog and drizzle while carrying a telegram that reports his wife Jeannie is in a Los Angeles hospital. Co-pilot Mel and stewardess Sally help keep the passengers calm, and a frightened passenger named Mrs. Gordon, traveling with her baby, becomes a particular concern. Air traffic over Los Angeles is stacked up and holding, and Sam must decide whether to keep waiting or push ahead. The episode of Suspense, first broadcast on January 19, 1958, stars Bartlett Robinson in the lead role, and the story is built around the tension between his personal worry and his duty to the passengers.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
