What happens

Nunez, a mountaineer who fell from a ledge high in the Andes, awakens in a hidden valley where the people have been blind for generations. He tells Senor Khatreite about his arrival, where the villagers mistake him for a half-formed, strange creature. Nunez falls in love with Medina Sorote, the daughter of the village elder, and the two wish to marry. The village doctor offers a surgical cure that would remove Nunez's eyes. Elements of this adaptation of H.G. Wells's story are broadcast on the Suspense radio series, first aired on December 13, 1959.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
