What happens

Hollywood in the 1920s is the setting for this episode of Suspense, titled The City That Was. Actor Tony Kendall is attacked at his estate gate by Bart Malloy, a drunk actor he had helped get work, and Rina Schafonte is caught up in the confrontation. Later that night, director Sergei Korsakov is shot in his hillside home, and Rina is found there holding a gun. Sergeant Kia Pomasad investigates, weighing clues like a whiskey glass and clove stains. The story follows Tony's efforts to clear Rina as the evidence accumulates against her.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
