What happens
Charlie Morton, a hard-bitten mining engineer, arrives at a remote Mexican gold mine where Quinn, the boss, has struck rich quartz. Morton plans a small stamping mill at the site so the ore can be smuggled out of the country, but his arrogance quickly causes friction with the miners. Tensions escalate when Morton clashes with a worker named Logan, and a fatal fight follows at the cliff edge. Morton begins to scheme for the whole fortune, using a local girl named Lolita and a bandit legend called El Chico. This is the Suspense episode The Big Shot, broadcast on September 9, 1948, starring Burt Lancaster.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
