What happens
Clara Foley and her sister Adele, once inseparable after a childhood promise, are estranged when Clara marries Douglas Foley. Adele refuses all contact, and years later Clara returns from Europe with her son Doug to find Adele living alone in a dilapidated house by the beach, her hair gone white and her manner strange. After Clara is tried for her husband's murder and acquitted, Doug and his friend Roy visit the isolated house and find Adele disturbed and hostile. The story is presented on Suspense, the CBS radio drama series, with Claire Trevor and Nancy Kelly in the lead roles, first broadcast on February 8, 1945.
A remote, run-down house on a deserted stretch of beach, and a courtroom, in an unspecified American locale.

Listen for: Adele's unsettling promise-driven remarks about 'washing away the years' and the mounting tension at the isolated beach house.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
