What happens

Henry Wilson, an employee at a New York firm, resents his superior Charles Dodds, who was promoted over him after joining the company two years earlier. On the night of the episode, Wilson stays late and confronts Dodds in his office, where a confrontation turns violent. The story unfolds through Wilson's own first-person account, presented on the Suspense radio series with Gene Lockhart in the lead role. The original broadcast aired on November 2, 1943, on Columbia.

A New York City office building at night, and the following morning at the firm.

Characters: Henry Wilson, Charles Dodds, Tom Higbee, Mr. Larkin, Jim, Mrs. Dodds, Detective Lewis

Listen for: Wilson's narration as he moves from the murder through the next morning, when he is given Dodds's old office.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
