What happens
Colin Farragut, a journalist, is followed through London by two men in bowler hats who seem to know him, and his evening with the cabaret-loving Ellen goes badly wrong. He is attacked at the Palace, then confronted by a waiter, and he begins to fear that the strangers mean him harm. Solicitor Chapses and his companion discuss how circumstantial evidence can condemn an innocent man. Farragut's account of the strangers and the evening is told through a letter he writes to a friend. Suspense aired this drama on 1955-04-26, starring Terrence O'Mara.
London, 1926, including a park, a Notting Hill restaurant, the Palace dance hall and Farragut's flat
Characters: Colin Farragut, Ellen, Mr. Wimper, Richard, Chapses
Listen for: The two men in bowler hats who keep appearing and whether Farragut's fears are justified
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
