What happens

Highway patrolman Art Hollister and his trainee, a newly assigned officer, pursue a speeding convertible down a dangerous mountain road on a rainy night. The driver is a young woman, and the patrolman at the wheel recognizes the car as belonging to his fellow officer's wife. As the chase unfolds, the two men weigh the danger of the winding grade against the need to stop her. Suspense aired this play as Speed Trap on April 19, 1955, starring Eddie Firestone and Larry Thor.

A mountain highway with steep grades, hairpin turns and a dangerous curve called Killer's Curve, near Halfway House and the police headquarters, on a slick, rainy night.

Characters: Art, Craig Hollister, Debbie, Pappy, Sergeant K-Pile, Joe

Listen for: The tense pursuit down the mountain grade, with the sound of the speeding convertible, the radio calls between the patrol cars, and Craig Hollister's unsettled reaction as the chase develops.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
