What happens

Harry Nara, a holdup man, robs a grocery store owned by Mr. Leibowitz and shoots him. Walking out with a cash box, he meets Ruthie Shaw, a former classmate who remembers him fondly from high school and invites him up to her apartment. Harry decides she is a witness he must silence, and he keeps her talking while he weighs what to do. Jackie Cooper stars in this Suspense episode, written by Gus C. Bays, which first aired on August 24, 1958.

A grocery store in a city neighborhood on a summer evening, and then Ruthie's apartment on Third Avenue beside an elevated train line.

Characters: Harry Nara, Ruthie Shaw, Mr. Leibowitz, Jimmy

Listen for: Harry's growing unease as Ruthie's memories of their school days shift the balance of the scene.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
