What happens

She recounts her romance with Ray Hamilton, an older instructor who grows jealous and angry when she breaks off their relationship and cancels a date. Her story moves back through their quarrels and the evening's events, as Emmy spends the night at the home of Dr. Church and his wife. This is an episode of the radio series Suspense, first broadcast on December 16, 1954, starring Lynn Allen as Emmy and Vic Perrin as Ray.

A police station and a university campus town on a rainy night, including Dr. Church's home near the edge of campus drive.

Characters: Lewis Gagan, Emmy Carter, Ray Hamilton, Dr. Church, Mrs. Church, Sergeant Ormond, Sal, Amy

Listen for: Emmy's argument with Ray outside the apartment, and the phone call in which Ray says he is coming over.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
