What happens
Colette, a woman with a past in occupied France, goes to the Fournier Gallery in New York to see a painting called Portrait Without a Face by the artist Paul DeGel. The gallery is closed, and she is turned away. Later she meets Paul, the painter she once knew in Paris, and their reunion is tense and uncertain. Colette's husband Charles has sent her with a deadly purpose, and the painting itself holds a crime that Paul has been waiting years to answer for. The episode is Suspense, broadcast by CBS, with Michele Morgan, Philip Dorn and George Coulouris in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
