What happens
Mrs. Elbert Stevenson, an invalid alone in her Sutton Place house while her husband works late, dials a number and is cut into a conversation between two men plotting a murder. Overhearing that a woman will be killed near a bridge at 11:15 that night, she frantically tries to alert the operator and the police, but each attempt meets bureaucratic delay and confusion. Her growing panic, her phone ringing with no one on the line, and her shrinking sense of safety drive the drama. The broadcast is Suspense's 1944 adaptation of Lucille Fletcher's play Sorry, Wrong Number, first aired on February 24, 1944, starring Agnes Moorehead.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
