What happens

Christopher Turner, a writer for a radio mystery series, is frustrated after years of producing murder scripts and having his work repeatedly rewritten. Angered by his editor and producer Ken Avery, he plans to record an actual murder for broadcast. He invites Avery's daughter Lois to his office, where he uses a gun to unsettle her and then tries to use her to lure her father there. The episode is Suspense's Murder on Mike, first aired July 28, 1957, and stars Raymond Burr.

A radio studio office in a building across from the studios, late at night, where a writer holds a gun on an editor's daughter.

Characters: Christopher Turner, Ken Avery, Lois Avery

Listen for: Turner's calm, sinister monologues as he tries to frighten Lois with the gun and the planned recording.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
