What happens

Jonathan Peters, a young plant worker, is caught between his father and a bomb plot he wants no part of. His father, a believer in atomic destruction, has him carry a lunch kit containing a nitroglycerin-filled thermos rigged with a detonator set for 6:30 the next morning. Jonathan must get through a night shift at the plant while the device sits in his locker. Suspense is a radio drama series, and this episode aired on June 9, 1949, with John Lund in the lead role.

A chemical plant and the surrounding town, including a plant dispensary and the locker room, in the late night and early morning.

Characters: Jonathan Peters, Father, Gus, Mike, Mr. Davis

Listen for: Jonathan's growing panic as the detonator timer approaches 6:30 and the lunch kit remains in his locker.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
