What happens

Tom Peterson drives his wife Linda to the hospital as her labor begins, with their son Bobby along in the back seat. Trouble strikes on the freeway, leaving the family stranded on the raised divider with no clear way to reach help. Los Angeles area, the Hollywood freeway during a rainstorm, and the Peterson home in the San Fernando Valley

Characters: Tom Peterson, Linda Peterson, Bobby Peterson, Dr. King, Mary, Gus

Listen for: The rising sound of the rain and traffic as Tom and Linda drive onto the freeway, and the siren that comes up the freeway later in the story.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
