What happens

Joe Crosby, an aerialist in a circus trapeze act, learns that his partner Tommy is marrying Fran, the woman Joe loves. Consumed by jealousy, Joe buys a revolver and climbs to Tommy's hotel room, but the room is empty and his plans become tangled as the day goes on. The act's routines and the strained bonds among the three performers form the core of the drama. Dana Andrews plays Joe in this 1949 episode of the Suspense radio series, first broadcast on January 20, 1949, and presented by Autolite.

A traveling circus, moving from Tulsa to St. Louis, with hotel rooms and the circus arena.

Characters: Joe Crosby, Tommy, Fran

Listen for: Joe's jealousy toward Tommy and Fran, and the tension that builds around the trapeze act.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
