What happens

Martin Ames, a stage actor living across the street from an apartment building, claims he sees a motionless man slumped in a chair in a tenth-floor window. Ames pushes the building's superintendent and the police to investigate, but the apartment appears empty, and the two elderly sisters who live there are indignant at his accusations. As Ames grows increasingly unsettled and begins to doubt his own sanity, the story turns to the mystery behind the window and the sisters' relationship to it. This Suspense episode, broadcast on January 27, 1949, stars Robert Montgomery, with the story written by Lucille Fletcher.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
