What happens
Private detectives Steve Kimberly and Rollo Collins take on a case from attorney Harrison Ward, who wants them to find Wall Street financier Joshua Franklin, who vanished seven years earlier and was believed dead. Ward says Franklin phoned him recently and ordered a sale of universal mining stock. Steve traces the sale to Professor Lawson Green, a former neurosurgeon who has lived in seclusion since leaving his post under a cloud. Steve visits the professor's stone house, where he encounters a secretive laboratory and a strange, disembodied voice. This is the Suspense radio drama Heads You Lose, first broadcast on March 11, 1962, starring William Redfield as Steve Kimberly.
A private detective office in the city, Professor Green's isolated stone house surrounded by trees and a wire fence, and a hidden laboratory beneath it.
Characters: Steve Kimberly, Rollo Collins, Harrison Ward, Joshua Franklin, Professor Lawson Green

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
