What happens

During a safari in Kenya, American businessman Babson and professional hunter Across, with their native tracker Charlie, pursue a wounded lion after Babson fires at it prematurely and fails to bring it down. The hunters follow a trail of blood through tall elephant grass as the wind shifts and rain begins to fall. Across grows uneasy about the hunt and about Babson's recklessness, while Charlie senses a change in both men. The party learns that the lion's mate is also tracking them through the grass. This Suspense radio drama, broadcast on April 3, 1956, stars Raymond Lawrence in the lead role.

Listen for: The tense stalk through the elephant grass as the hunters track the wounded lion and its mate

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
