What happens
Frankie and Johnny, a folk-song story adapted for Suspense, follows a New Orleans couple whose relationship sours over Johnny's absences and his new flashy suit. Frankie suspects he is seeing another woman, Nelly Bligh, and she searches the city's bars and streets for him that night. Johnny's friends and acquaintances describe his movements, and the search draws Frankie deeper into anger and jealousy. The original Suspense broadcast aired on February 3, 1957, and stars Margaret Whiting as Frankie, with Shepherd Menken as Johnny. The transcript covers only the first part of the episode.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
