What happens
Julia Powell, a high-strung young woman, lives in the large house of her guardians, Harvey Lyons and Laura, under the terms of her late father Benjamin Powell's will. Her troubled state centers on a painting in her room that she finds increasingly disturbing. Julia begins to hear footsteps and believes the figure in the picture is moving. Dr. Barrow, a family friend, visits the house and advises her to confront her fears. The series is Suspense, and this episode, Fear Paints a Picture, first aired on April 13, 1943, starring Nancy Coleman.

Characters: Julia Powell, Harvey Lyons, Laura, Dr. Barrow, Benjamin Powell
Listen for: Julia's growing fear of the painting, and the footsteps she hears in the night.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
