What happens
Dr. Patrick Corrie keeps a human brain alive in his laboratory, the brain of William Donovan, and believes it is trying to direct him. His wife Janice has left him and his son David and assistant Shrata seem to be conspiring against him. Corrie grows increasingly disturbed as the brain's influence over his thoughts and dreams deepens. The episode is the second part of a two-part Suspense broadcast starring Orson Welles, based on Curt Siodmak's novel Donovan's Brain, and was first broadcast on May 25, 1944.
Dr. Corrie's laboratory and study in a house, in 1944.
Characters: Dr. Patrick Corrie, David Corrie, Janice Corrie, Shrata, William Donovan
Listen for: Corrie's journal entries and the eerie delta-wave sounds of the brain in the laboratory.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
