What happens
Mrs. Grimes, a widow from Manchester, takes a room at the boarding house run by a proprietor and his daughter Sharon during a rainy night. The proprietor grows suspicious of his guest after she speaks oddly and the newspapers report a murderer called the Daisy Chain escaping from jail. Sharon finds herself drawn to a young visitor named Jimmy, and the household's uneasy calm begins to unravel. Suspense, written by John R. Forrest, was a radio drama series, and this episode aired on June 26, 1960.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
