What happens

Lou Hendricks, a New York criminal lawyer, goes to the apartment of Carmen Brown, a dancer he has been courting, after she asks him to come for a showdown. Their quarrel turns violent, and Hendricks finds her injured on the floor. Realizing how a prosecutor would view the scene, he sets about building an alibi, wiping away fingerprints and staging the room. This is the Suspense radio drama Crime Without Passion, written by Ben Hecht, first broadcast on May 2, 1946, with Joseph Cotten as Hendricks.

Listen for: Hendricks building his alibi step by step, and the reveal at the El Bravo Club

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
