What happens

Ted is leaving soon for Ecuador, and the reunion turns into a confession: Philip admits that his marriage has become a trap and that he is in love with Joe. Later Philip walks out alone and comes home to find his house burning. Ted's body is found in the wreckage. The story is part of the Suspense radio series, and the lead actor named in the transcript is James Stewart. The broadcast's original air date was February 21, 1946.
A residential home in an American city, and later a remote mountain cottage above a lake.
Characters: Dr. Philip Martin, Ted Wolf, Gwen Martin, Joe
Listen for: Philip's confession about his marriage at the dinner table, and the sound of the fire as he walks back to his house.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
