What happens
In 1962, an elderly widow in divided Berlin refuses to leave her apartment, but her son Carl, back from the western sector, insists she come with him to rejoin his wife and baby. On a Sunday morning, they drive toward the border, where a guard tells them the gate is closed and the city is being split. Carl argues with the officer, who threatens to shoot anyone who disobeys orders. The mother, shaken by the sight of a man killed at the checkpoint, begins to speak with new resolve about freedom and about the opinions she gave up long ago. Carl and his mother soon find themselves in a tense confrontation with a local informer, and the story continues with their attempt to reach the west.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
