What happens

Dr. Gebhardt, director of a biological institute, learns that his pet cat Jerry has carried plague from the lab and infected his assistant Mac. Gebhardt alerts the police chief, who launches a citywide hunt for the black cat, while a tabloid reporter threatens to publish the story. Frightened calls flood the police with false sightings of black cats across the city. Gebhardt realizes his own daughter Patty may be in danger in Washington Park, where the search becomes increasingly desperate as darkness falls. This is the Suspense radio drama of August 2, 1955, starring Edgar Barrier.

Listen for: Gebhardt's rising fear as he realizes his daughter is in the park with the infected cat

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
