What happens
Henry and Lucy Fielding, a young couple, rent a country cottage at a surprisingly low price after Lucy feels drawn to a particular newspaper. Soon after moving in, the telephone rings with no one on the line, and a voice seems to come through it. Henry insists there must be a rational explanation, while Lucy becomes convinced the house holds something evil. The story is part of the Suspense series, first aired on August 6, 1961, with Rosemary Rice and Bill Lipton in the lead roles. The tale was written for the program by Jack Bundy.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
