What happens

Two men, Larry and Cabell, are stationed together at a remote northern camp in the frozen Northwest Territories, working for the Canadian Geodetic Survey. After their radio burns down, the isolation and tension between them grows. A phonograph record and a bottle of champagne bring a brief truce, but an argument over the music turns violent, leaving Larry alone and fighting for his life in the freezing cold. Suspense, broadcast by CBS, presented this 1955 episode, starring William Conrad and Stacey Harris, on August 16, 1955.

Characters: Larry, Cabell, Jack

Listen for: The argument over the phonograph record and the sudden turn to violence between the two men

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
