What happens

Albert Baker, an impostor posing as James Wentworth, takes a room in a Cleveland boarding house and poses as a nerve-pain patient to obtain morphine from a young doctor, Dr. Martin of Toledo. He claims to be sick with trigeminal neuralgia to cover his plan. Baker's wife Louise lies ill in a hospital, and he has come to Cleveland with a resolve that is growing darker. His visits to the hospital bring him into contact with nurse Pauline White and with the staff who tend Louise each day.

Cleveland and Toledo, 1950, a boarding house room, a hospital, and an athletic club

Listen for: The voices of Albert Baker, the young Dr. Martin, and nurse Pauline White, and the sound of the locket and the glass of milk at Louise's bedside

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
