What happens
Henri Vibard, a man living under an assumed identity at a rest home, sees his estranged wife Mary brought in and is determined to humiliate her. Sergeant Freeman of the London Bureau of Missing Persons questions him about a dead man's estate and a robbery, and Vibard grows wary of the investigator's trap. Recalling the events that led him here, Vibard describes a deal over stolen American bonds with a man named Nate Blackburn, and a desperate attempt to vanish with the money. Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
