What happens
Clark Kent and young Jimmy Olsen arrive at the Bartlett Logging Camp in the Northwoods to investigate a series of deaths. The loggers believe that cutting a tree whose roots are buried in snow brings the vengeance of the White Plague, and two men have already died under strange circumstances. Boss Fred Harmon is anxious, and his daughter Nancy is worried about him. Bill Dawson, the tough crew boss, keeps his men working despite their unease. During a lunch break, Kent and Dawson discuss the strange events. Then a lumberjack collapses and dies beside a freshly felled tree, and as Kent sends the body back to camp, the pair come under rifle fire from the woods.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
