What happens

Superman, the alter ego of reporter Clark Kent, is pitted against the criminal mastermind known as the Vulture, who has captured Jimmy Olsen and holds him in his hideout. The Vulture, a villain who claims he dislikes physical pain, plans mental torment instead, using Jimmy's voice to make Clark Kent, Lois Lane and editor Perry White believe the boy is being tortured. Perry White and Clark Kent wait at the Daily Planet as the police search for the hideout, and a homemade record arrives announcing news of Jimmy. The Vulture's voice on the record threatens Perry White, who is left shaken. Perry White then tells Clark that the record has given him a clue, and Superman sets out to follow it. The Adventures of Superman is a radio series, and this episode aired on January 21, 1943.
