What happens
Clark Kent and his friend Bruce Wayne attend a peace rally at Metropolis Stadium, where a masked impostor in a Superman costume is on stage. Herbert Calkins, a Scotland Yard detective who has come to America to prove Clark Kent is Superman, shouts that the figure is a fraud and demands proof. The man in the costume is Wayne, and Kent slips away to take the real Superman's place, flying over the stadium to answer the crowd. Afterward Calkins appears to accept that Kent is not Superman and prepares to leave for England, but Kent is uneasy. The story is part six of the Adventures of Superman serial, broadcast on July 29, 1946.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
