What happens
Superman investigates a plot by munitions magnate Rufus Pelley to sabotage the World Peace Federation by seizing the Metropolis Daily Planet. Perry White and John Grayson have been abducted and left in a rowboat rigged with explosives. Following an underwater telephone line to a moonlit island estate, Superman and Inspector Henderson confront Pelley in his glass-walled study. Pelley admits his opposition to the Federation, then reveals a deadly threat to his captives. Superman must reach the robot boat before it explodes. This is the Adventures of Superman, broadcast in 1946 on the Mutual network, with the first part of the story presented here.
