What happens

Superman and Inspector Henderson search for the missing publisher John Grayson and editor Perry White after a maroon sedan is pulled from the river. Superman finds a license number and a registration that leads to a small gasoline station in New Beacon, run by Paul Brawer. Brawer's story about his stolen car and a loan from a friend, Harry Johnson, seems doubtful to the pair. Superman notices Brawer making a suspicious phone call and follows a buried telephone wire running along the bottom of the bay. The Superman radio serial, sponsored by Kellogg's PEP, aired on August 20, 1946. The episode is the fourteenth part of the story.

Metropolis and the nearby coast, including a dark river, a small marine gasoline station in New Beacon on the bay, and an island home offshore.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
