What happens
Superman investigates after Jimmy Olsen sends urgent pigeon messages from Professor Twiddle's radar rocket, which has stopped high above the Earth with only 24 hours of oxygen. At Professor Twiddle's house on Winthrop Street, Superman finds Gus, the professor's nervous assistant, and learns that two men, Dr. Marsh and his companion, cut off the radar beam the day before. Together they search for a way to contact the stranded rocket. The episode is part four of the radar rocket story, first broadcast on February 20, 1946 as part of The Adventures of Superman.
Professor Twiddle's house at 607 Winthrop Street, in the third-floor laboratory where the radar machine is kept, and the empty space high above the Earth.
Characters: Superman, Clark Kent, Jimmy Olsen, Professor Twiddle, Gus, Dr. Marsh
Listen for: The moving distance indicator on the radar screen, and whether the beam will pick up the rocket.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
