What happens

Clark Kent, now working for the Secret Service Division of Hemisphere Administration in Washington, is trying to learn what became of American engineers lost in the Andes Mountains. Perry White's stratoplane, with Lois Lane and the pilot Bronson aboard, has its controls jammed and climbs toward disaster, and Superman arrives in time to free the controls and bring the plane down safely. Back in Washington, Kent shows a carved wooden flute that was jammed in the control cables to Dr. Colson, curator of the National Museum. Colson examines it and finds that it may be authentic, while Director Ives grows angry at Kent's refusal to explain where he found it and dismisses him from the case.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
