What happens
Clark Kent, disguised as Superman, investigates after Jimmy Olsen and Beanie Martin are seized and left bound in an empty house next door to Beanie's home. Their homemade cardboard walkie-talkie allowed Jimmy to call Beanie's brother Joe, who summoned Clark from the Daily Planet. Searching the house, Clark finds empty red paint cans and a red-painted nail that proves to be solid gold, raising the question of why someone is painting gold nails in the basement. Clark examines fresh tire tracks at the curb and sets out to trail the car, while Jimmy and Beanie are taken away by two men in a small black sedan.
