What happens
Jimmy Olsen and Beanie Martin are seized by two men, carried off in a car, and left in a sedan that is sent rolling down a hill into a river. Superman rescues the two boys from the sinking car and returns them to Beanie's house. Clark Kent examines an empty house next door and finds nails that are solid gold but painted red. Jimmy then tells Clark that a boy from the neighbouring Lacey house was involved in the kidnapping. This is the third part of the Adventures of Superman serial, first broadcast on 21 March 1945.
A residential street with an empty house, a steep hill above a river, and the Lacey house next door, in an unnamed city.
Characters: Superman, Clark Kent, Jimmy Olsen, Beanie Martin, Joe Martin, Mrs. Lacey, John Lacey
Listen for: Jimmy's revelation that the captors' boss is Mrs. Lacey's son, and Clark's discovery of the solid gold nails.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
