What happens
Superman, disguised as reporter Clark Kent, and his colleague Jimmy Olsen work with Captain Callahan to solve a mystery of smashed plaster statues. A hidden metal box holds a formula for a powerful new explosive, stolen from scientist Professor Palmer Graves. When Graves is attacked and found unconscious in a black car, the police arrest two thugs and take the professor home. Kent and Callahan discuss the strange clown-costume disguises worn by the statue smasher. Then the nurse caring for Graves falls ill, and Kent, Olsen and Callahan begin to act oddly as they float above the floor. The episode stops there, before the cause is revealed.
New York City, in the early hours of the morning, around the police headquarters, Professor Graves's brownstone on West 18th Street, and the streets nearby.
Characters: Clark Kent, Superman, Jimmy Olsen, Captain Callahan, Professor Palmer Graves

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
