What happens
Clark Kent, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen of the Daily Planet are trying to unravel a puzzling mystery involving broken plastic statues. After Kent deliberately breaks the tenth statue, he and Jimmy find a tiny metal box inside containing a slip of paper with chemical formulas. Kent and Jimmy tie up a would-be thief and take the formula to police headquarters, where Dr. Turner recognizes that it may be for a powerful explosive. Dr. Turner explains that the formula belongs to Professor Palmer Graves, who had it stolen from his laboratory. When Dr. Turner telephones the professor, the line goes dead mid-conversation, and the characters realize that he is in serious trouble.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
