What happens
Clark Kent, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen investigate a series of smashed plastic casts of the statue The End of the Trail. After the statue bought for Lois is destroyed in her bedroom, the friends hurry down to the apartment of Carol Walton, the private secretary, who has been attacked by an intruder. Carol describes a struggling man who escaped by the fire escape, and the friends search the yard, where another broken cast is found. Clark, who has slipped away in his Superman costume, returns to the others as himself. The apartment's first visitor, a man dressed as a pirate, has vanished, and the friends are left puzzled about the reason behind the attacks.
A city apartment building, where the friends live and work, with a fire escape and a backyard below.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
