What happens
Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen wait in Kent's apartment for the mysterious intruder who has been smashing plaster statues in Metropolis. The man arrives dressed as a clown, and after a struggle he is taken to police headquarters, where he behaves oddly and insists he is not a man who can be questioned in any ordinary way. Kent suspects the intruder is pretending to be insane and wonders whether one man or several men were behind the different costumes seen at the break-ins. The clown is placed in a cell, and a doctor is called to examine him. The series is The Adventures of Superman, and this part first aired on November 26, 1942.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
