What happens
Superman, disguised as Clark Kent, confronts Max Heller, head of a foreign espionage ring, after Heller's mechanical man set fire to a shipyard at Haynes River. Superman saved twelve naval destroyers from the flames, then followed the returning steel monster back to a hidden basement. There he found Lois Lane held prisoner, and he moved to free her and recover the stolen blueprints for the mechanical men. Lois Lane is a reporter who works alongside Clark Kent at a great metropolitan newspaper, and the episode is the tenth part of a serial. The Adventures of Superman aired on January 9, 1942.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
