What happens

Clark Kent, a reporter who is also a Secret Service operative, becomes convinced that Max Heller is still alive after receiving a telephone call from a voice he recognizes as Heller's, even though Heller was reported dead of a heart attack. Kent tells Major Campbell of the Espionage Division about the call, and the two argue over whether the death was real. Kent learns that the body was claimed by a Miss Gerta Stein, a name associated with Lois Lane. Meanwhile, a secret society led by a woman called Nita, the Leopard Woman, meets in a room filled with incense, and Heller is revealed to be alive and working with her. The episode is the first part of a serial, and this guide covers only its opening portion.

A metropolitan city, including the offices of the Secret Service, the city morgue, and a hidden meeting room behind an old brownstone.

Characters: Clark Kent, Major Campbell, Max Heller, Lois Lane, Nita, the Leopard Woman

Listen for: Kent's telephone call from Max Heller, and Heller's reappearance at the meeting of Nita and her followers.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
