What happens
Clark Kent, Major Evans Dover and their pilot Jack Corboy are searching the Central American jungle for the sacred mummy of the Mayan goddess Ashta, which is said to look like a sleeping living woman. Chief Tasso and Bert, a former British Navy deserter, have agreed to guide them to the temple of Ashta, which is ruled by the High Priest Kamado. Superman flies ahead to check on a wrecked plane and then to the temple, where he stops the rising waters of the crocodile lake. Kent later rejoins Dover and Tasso, and the three enter a secret tunnel that collapses behind them, trapping them underground. Bert has been separated from the group. The group reaches a temple chamber where a mummy lies on a couch.
