What happens
Clark Kent, in his Superman guise, and Major Evans Dover have escaped a dungeon in a Mayan ruin, and a hidden tunnel leads them to Albert Wellington-Predson, a English deserter living in the jungle. He says he has lived there for eleven years and claims to know the local chief, Casso, who is locked in rivalry with the high priest Kimado. Casso wants Kimado discredited and offers Kent and Dover his help, while describing a temple on an island in a lake. Their plans are interrupted when shots ring out near the plane, and Corboy, the pilot, may be under attack.
