What happens
Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen travel with Comanche Joe, a wealthy oilman, to his ranch after an avalanche narrowly misses their wagon in the canyon. Clark notices that the three of them should have been buried, and he suspects that someone knocked him out. Later, Rosson, Comanche Joe's ranch foreman, meets the visitors, and an oil-field worker named Dusty joins in. Rosson and an unnamed man discuss a plan to scare Comanche Joe into selling his ranch and oil fields by making him believe the old legend of the howling coyote. Their scheme involves a ceremony at the reservation in which Clark and Jimmy are to be welcomed into the tribe.
A mountain trail and canyon near Comanche Joe's ranch, and the ranch itself, with a nearby Indian reservation.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
